Jacques: All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the canon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Throwing some ideas around..

Awesome old women.

Researching the technical aging process....

SO apparently building a red light district in the foyer of uni is "inappropriate".

(Who would have guessed?!)

And  so we turn our attentions away from the issue of human trafficking, and towards another pressing social issue... old people.

The week I got to play God..

Bits of wall I like... (cont)

Initial reportage research
Status: ongoing

Decided to use a newspaper instead of a sketchbook as the format for presenting my research.
You may think it's relevant as the subject of my research is 'reportage'.
(However your opinion may change slightly upon the realisation that I am an impoverished student... A3 sketchbook £6.50 vs 'Britain's first and only concise quality newspaper'  20p.)

As you can see i've improved its appearance using Brusho, permanent marker and masking tape...
(lots of masking tape.)

This, as you may already have guessed, is where the magic was happening...

.So this research consists of :
  1. Artists name
  2. location
  3. Agent
  4. Quotation from the artist
  5. An optimistic attempt by myself to translate my reportage sketches into their style. Hoping to better understand their various working processes. - In homage.. please don't sue me

A weekend of Horny Beasts!

Had a brief creative block until out of sheer boredom I started mucking about with ink.

Pretty pleased with the result, and think they would look lovely as part of a white cotton patchwork quilt..

Favourite Sketch Of The Week... (so far)

I want to make my kitchen cupboard doors out of this wood.
